Public Culture Research Hub: Chronicles of Crisis: Public Culture, Austerity and Documentary in Greece.
Our workshop on May 30th entitled ‘Chronicles of Crisis: Public Culture, Austerity and Documentary in Greece’ will look at the framing and the reframing of crisis through contemporary Greek documentary, lay down the challenges and opportunities of documentary as a medium for stronger journalism and campaigning, for representation of issues, individuals, and communities, and for utilising digital structures for distribution. We will include a screening of Aris Chatzistefanou's latest film, Fascism Inc., which is to be followed by a Skype Q&A with the director, and a roundtable discussion at the end of the workshop.
